Tasting Note
One of our winemaker’s favourite blends, a classic from Bordeaux.
The 2008 vintage was warm and long with a dry autumn essential for red grape varieties to
ripen in our particular microclimate.
The bouquet is dominated by intense blackberry and red currant which together give this
wine great depth. The berry fruits extend onto the palate where they exhibit concentrated blackberry supported by subtle anise flavours
that linger in the mouth. These flavours are also supported by fine French oak and very fine tannins. The result, a knockout elegant, cool climate wine. Alc. 13.5%
This wine is perfect with rich winter casseroles, red meat dishes and hard cheeses.
If you wish to drink now be sure to decant. Cellar for 6 to 8 years in ideal conditions and you will be rewarded.
